Lifesize Gundam, Odaiba Tokyo

From fiction to reality, Amuro Ray's RX-78-2 Gundam from the seminal 1979 anime classic "Mobile Suit Gundam" has been brought to life in massive 1/1 scale as an 18-meter-tall (that’s about 60 feet!) monument!
Part of the Green Tokyo Gundam Project, and currently on display at Shiokaze Park on Japan's man-made island of Odaiba in Tokyo, it's a stunning realization of the First Gundam, sporting new additions to its classic design such as sub-nozzles beneath its backpack and incredible mechanical detail throughout, particularly in the elbow, knee, and ankle joints.

The Hsien Family

Janice is on her one month "Bed Rest", so Zoya is my full responsibility for a month and it ain't easy to spend all day with a 2 year old. Thanks for grandma and aunties and uncle around, it made my job a lot easier. One of the favorite thing I love to do with Zoya is drawing, and it seems Zoya enjoys dad's drawings too. It always start as Zoya asking "Zoya wanna draw", and it always end as "Daddy does all the drawings and Zoya is watching while stepping on daddy's lap".

New iMac 24"

It has been 5 years since I got my iBook and I have been struggling with the speed and the size of screen for this little laptop. With the technology changing so fast and the demand on streaming video & audio, having a 5 year old machine is really like using a stone tool at today's world. I pretty much just been using my iBook to check emails while reading since the internet is really slow. My heart have been wanting to upgrade to a new mac with a bigger screen for a while now, but due to the recent unemployment (9 month) and the pressure of my second kid's coming, budgeting has been tight. So the idea of buying a new computer just fall waaaaaaaaay off to the bottom of my to buy list. However with selling my MR2, I got some extra cash (sorry Chris, I will pay you back someday) and the hope of getting a new mac becomes more feasible. After some research on eBay for how much I can get if I sold my old iBook and Janice's old PowerMac G4, plus the free shipping and free iPod touch, I can somewhat justify getting a new mac (the bottom line is "the man get what he wants")
So here it is, my second personal mac : )
and good job Steve and apple team !!!

LEGO

Lego has been a big part of my childhood and I think it helps find the architect in me since the early age. One of the best toy I get for Zoya is this Lego set and I love playing Lego with Zoya. I am amazed how little the Lego has changed since my childhood, I guess good thing in life do not change........

Jamba Juice

Finally the summer has come to Los Angeles and I almost forget how hot it gets. Thanks to Jamba juice's buy one get one free deal, it helps Zoya and me endure the hot weather a bit longer. Too bad the deal ends today.....
